Central Oxford County in western Maine… - Until 700 PM EST Monday.
- At 1143 AM EST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
heavy rain falling across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches
are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly. Rapid snowmelt is also occurring and
will add to the flooding. HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding. SOURCE…Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. - Some locations that will experience flash flooding include…
Farmington, Bethel, Rumford, Jay, Livermore Falls, Dixfield,
Kingfield, Canton, Andover and Carrabassett Valley.

Speckled Mountain, Old Speck Mountain, Saddleback Mountain,
Sugarloaf Mountain, Mount Abraham, Grafton Notch, Evans Notch, Mount
Blue, Caribou Mountain, Screw Auger Falls, Albany Mountain, Deer
Hills, Goose Eye Mountain, Speck Pond, Table Rock, Mount Zircon,
Baldpate Mountain, Old Blue Mountain, Bemis Mountain, Spaulding
Mountain and Elephant Mountain.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Life Threatening flooding is occurring. Take action NOW to move to
higher ground! If trapped, do not attempt to cross fast moving water.
Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
