  • IMPACTS…At 9.0 feet, Flood waters inundate Route 17 in Byron
    near the intersection of Byron Village Road.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
  • At 6:45 AM EDT Tuesday the stage was 2.4 feet.
  • Bankfull Stage…At 7.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding begins.
  • Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this afternoon to a crest of 8.5 feet this evening. It
    will then fall below flood stage late this evening.
  • Flood stage is 7.0 feet.

.Recent heavy rainfall has pushed river levels to near bankfull.
Additional rainfall today is expected to bring river levels to minor
or near minor flooding.

For the Swift River…including Roxbury…Minor flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

  • Minor flooding is forecast.
  • Forecast…The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
    evening to a crest of 15.5 feet by 8 PM. It will then fall below
    flood stage late this evening.
  • Impact…At 13.0 feet, Bethel Outdoor Adenture and Campground
    begins to flood
  • Impact…At 13.4 feet, Water enters ballfield in Rumford that is
    south of Lincoln Avenue
  • Impact…At 13.7 feet, Ballfield south of Lincoln Avenue (Route 2)
    in Rumford is completely flooded.
  • Impact…At 15.0 feet, Low spots along the Swift and Androscoggin
    Rivers flooded in Mexico and Rumford
  • Impact…At 15.5 feet, Water up to the intersection of Lincoln

  • At 406 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
    extending from 18 miles northwest of Pittsburg to 6 miles north of
    Colebrook to 13 miles northwest of Stratford, moving east at 60
    mph. HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
  • Locations impacted include…
    Colebrook, Rangeley, Pittsburg, Dixville, Columbia, Clarksville,
    Upper Cupsuptic, Adamstown, Oxbow, Parkertown, Lynchtown,
