  • At 312 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
    thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
    1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate
    is 1 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or
    expected to begin shortly. HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE…Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
    areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
    other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

    Eustis, Kingfield, Bingham, Carrabassett Valley, Phillips, Weld,

  • WHAT…Flooding of streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone
    locations are occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess
    runoff from earlier rainfall, so additional areas may flood
    through this evening.
  • WHERE…Portions of south central and southwest Maine, including
    the following counties, in south central Maine, Kennebec and
    Sagadahoc. In southwest Maine, Androscoggin, Cumberland and York.
  • WHEN…Until 1000 PM EDT Tuesday.
  • IMPACTS…Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not
    be passable. It will take several hours for all the water from
    these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban
    areas. Small stream flooding will continue through this evening.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
  • At 140 PM EDT, Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen,
    with an additional inch possible through this evening.
