  • Until 515 PM EDT.
  • At 424 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles north of
    Lebanon, or 9 miles northwest of Alfred, moving south at 25 mph. HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
  • Locations impacted include…
    Rochester, Alfred, Sanford, Barrington, Berwick, Farmington,
    Lebanon, Wells, Waterboro, Limerick, Acton, Brookfield, Wakefield,
    Shapleigh, Middleton, North Berwick, Milton, Newfield, New Durham
    and Strafford.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

If on or near open body of water, get away from the water and move
indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to
15 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you
are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter
now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

…FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EDT THIS EVENING…

  • WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
  • WHERE…A portion of southern New Hampshire, including the
    following county, Hillsborough.
  • WHEN…Until 700 PM EDT.
  • IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
  • At 353 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
    Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  • Additional rainfall amounts up to a half inch are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  • Some locations that will experience flooding include…
    Nashua, Merrimack, Milford, Amherst, Hollis, Mason and
    Brookline.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.

At 411 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Cornish, or 17
miles southwest of Naples, moving southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include…
Hiram, Cornish, Standish, Limington, Limerick, Parsonsfield, Baldwin,
Newfield and Sebago.
