SKYWARN Activation Requested for Winter Storm this Evening Into Tuesday

Hello SKYWARN Team,

We’re expecting a storm to move in after sunset tonight and continue through tomorrow morning. We’d appreciate your reports! Anytime tonight for the night owls, but particularly reports of precipitation type and amount between 6AM-2PM Tuesday, February 16, 2021. This will be a mixed bag with ice, sleet, and snow expected across the region and ground truth reports from you are so helpful as we track the mixed precipitation!

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we would request remote coverage of WX1GYX. Any method possible to send in reports is acceptable, with the preferred method being population of the SKYWARN NET Reporting Google Sheet.

Thank you so much for your help!

As Margaret mentioned above, any reports of precipitation changeover will be critical in helping forecasts throughout the storm.

Weather spotters are encouraged to report significant weather conditions according to Standard Operating Procedures. Please activate local nets as necessary.

As always, please monitor the Hazardous Weather Outlook for updates.

Be alert and stay safe.
