…HEAVY, WET SNOW THROUGH TONIGHT…

.Low pressure is rapidly developing in the Gulf of Maine this
evening while temperatures continue to cool over Maine and New
Hampshire. During the evening hours a heavy band of precipiation
is expected to develop over Maine and adjacent northern New
Hampshire. As this occurs temperatures will continue to cool
allowing rain to change to heavy wet snow. Some areas will
experience power outages as a result. Thundersnow may occur as
well. The precipiation will taper off and end in most areas well
after midnight. Snow showers and squalls may occur on Friday with
briefly lower visibilities and additional slippery travel.

  • WHAT…Heavy snow. Storm total of 10 to 16 inches.
  • WHERE…Northern Oxford, Northern Franklin and Central
    Somerset Counties.
  • WHEN…Until 2 PM EDT Friday.
  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult to impossible. Power
    outages are possible from the expected heavy wet snow.
